Most of the disorders involved in a decrease or interruption of follicular development are caused by alterations in the cyclic process of hair growth (anagenic, catagen, telogen phases). In this process, the communication between cells of the dermal papilla and the stem cells plays a fundamental role. This interaction is governed mainly by growth factors (GF), molecules that activate or inhibit specific signaling pathways, causing a state of quiescence or stimulation of cell differentiation and hair growth.
Plant-IGF-1 (Oligopeptide-2), plant-VEGF and plant-Follistatin (Glycoproteins) are three biotechnological ingredients product of a novel system of expression in plants. They constitute key proteins and GF in follicular development, due to the fact that: 1- they allow to optimize the coordination between the mesenchymal (epidermal papilla) and epithelial (follicular sheath) components of the follicle, 2- they enhance bidirectional communication between the bulb and the perifollicular environment (vascular system).
Their structural similarity to human GFs that naturally regulate the follicular cycle, allows them to bind to specific receptors on the cell surface. They activate different signaling mechanisms of the cell, acting in an autocrine and paracrine way on the different tissues of the bulb. Plant-Follistatin interacts with the main inhibitors of stem cells, the BMPs (Bone Morphogenic Proteins), potentiating the entry into the growth phase (anagen). Plant-VEGF stimulates the growth of endothelial cells and increases cellular permeability, favoring the supply of oxygen and nutrients needed by the expanding follicle. Plant-IGF-1 induces an anti-apoptotic state by prolonging cell survival by regulating the Bcl-2 / Bax balance. It promotes the division, proliferation and differentiation of follicular sheath cells favoring growth, correct keratinization and elongation of the hair fiber.
AnargyTM contains a hair formulation with the qualities of these 3 active ingredients, demonstrating a clear effectiveness in the growth and strengthening of hair as well as in the thickness and density of eyelashes.
The results in efficacy trials show that Anargy, activates the cellular proteasome, as an intrinsic detoxification mechanism (more than 50% of Chymotrypsin-like activity), induces the basal level antiapoptotic proteins (more than 2 times the level of BCL- 2 phosphorylated) and increases the proliferation of endothelial cells (HUVEC) by more than 80%. The application of Anargy on a panel of volunteers (men and women between 21-62 years, at 150 days) showed an increase of an average of 10,024 hairs in 150 days, with a maximum increase of 73% in the ratio anagen / catagen and a 40% reduction in hair loss after washing and brushing. In eyelashes we observed an increase of 39% in length and thickness and 14% in length and density after 60 days of treatment.
These active ingredients have the potential to nourish, protect and detoxify the root of the follicle, helping to reactivate the hair growth cycle, strengthening it against the effects exerted by intrinsic and extrinsic factors that accentuate its fall.
The biotechnological novelty of this innovation lies not only in obtaining a hair care product that brings together growth factors and human proteins but in the method of expression and production from plants.
